This study was carried out at the light and electronmicroscopic level to investigate the effect of high energy and Vitamin A levels in the ration over the fat depositian in the liver of the Bobcock strains chickens fed in cages.

Fourty mature chickens were used as material. Lipid granules in the liver epithelial cells were rarely appeared in the control group chickens. Contrary to those in the cytoplasm of the perisinusoidal cells, the num. bers of lipid granules were observed that not to increase .in the hepatic epithelial cells of the chicken subcutanely administrated with 50.000 I.U/kg Vitamin A palmitat.

All the findings were observed related to the fat depositian in the liver of chickens that fed 3 months with high eneryg rations.

Presence of lipids in the liver were determined as lipid accumulation rather than dejeneration.

On the other hand diffuse lipid dejenerations were determined in the hepatic epithelial cells of the chickens fed both high energy and Vital!lin A level ration.

In the case of high energy level together with high Vitamin A level in the ration. It is concluded that the intensity of fat depasition in the liver increased with the level of Vitamin A.
