Macroanatomic Investigations on the Trigeminal Nerve in Holstein Cattle

This study was carried out to investigate the origin, course and innervation area of the trigeminal nerve in Hoistein cattle. For this purpose, it was used eight of Holstein Cattle ensured from Konya slaughterhouses. The materials were dissected after fixed in formaldehyde solution 10%. It was determined that the trigeminal nerve reached the trigeminal ganglion into the two roots after arising from the pons, then, gave the ophthalmic nerve, maxillary nerve and mandibular nerve. These branches of Ihe trigeminal nerye were detected to be left the cranial cavity through the different opening, then, ended by reaching the concerned innervation parts.
