An Investigation of Blue Tongue Virus Infection Using Competative ELISA in Afyonkarahisar province

Bluetongue Virus (BTV) infection is among the most important abortive agents in sheep. This study was performed for investigate the entity of BTV infection as serologically. For this purpose, total of 568 sheep were sampled in 7 village at 4 different territory in Afyonkarahisar Province. Competitive ELISA which developed to detect all serotypes of BTV in ruminant species was used for serological examination. Test results indicated that, out of 568 samples, 141 (24.8%) were found to be antibody positive for BTV. The proportions were varied among 11.1% and 42% in the village basis.
